"Pepino, The Spikey Stoic"
Owner, D. David Pecirep has published a children’s book called: “Pepino the Spiky Stoic”. This book, which is beautifully illustrated by Dave’s fellow combat veteran, Kevin Goins teaches Epictetus' concept of the dichotomy of control.
This philosophy teaches children that the only thing we can control is how we react to things. "Pepino the Spikey Stoic" features Dave’s late hedgehog Pepino and everyone’s favorite bunny, Winston Kingsley!

Beacon Counseling’s founder, Dave Pecirep was awarded Southington Community Well-Being Grant Initiative funded by the Bradley Henry Barnes & Leila Upson Barnes Memorial Trust by Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington (ECCS).

This 4-part workshop series sought to give parents and caregivers an introduction to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) basics. The workshop was targeted for caregivers of preschool and elementary aged youth but much applied to high school aged students.
